Greetings,
As the year comes to a close, many of us begin considering goals for the year ahead. However, before we can create meaningful plans, we need clarity.
One of my favorite reminders comes from Brené Brown: "Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind."
We often think about that idea in terms of leadership. We know teams perform better when expectations are clear, priorities are defined, and feedback is direct.
Interestingly, the same principle applies to ourselves. How often do we feel stuck simply because we're unclear about what we want and what we are working toward?
I've seen leaders inadvertently create confusion by assuming their teams know what's expected. I've also seen talented professionals cause stress for themselves by carrying around vague aspirations rather than defining specific goals and next steps.
Clarity starts with defining what matters most and translating those priorities into concrete goals and action items. As you prepare for the year ahead, where would greater clarity create more momentum for you or your team?
