Greetings,

This year in our team meetings, we've been checking in and holding each other accountable for doing things that spark joy. As a holiday gift, our team members and strategic partners want to share those favorite things—from quotes to products, books to experiences. We hope they also bring you joy.

Robert Friedland, Executive & Career Transition Coach: A favorite new film is “The Holdovers," starring Paul Giamatti as a cantankerous teacher at an all boys school. At Christmas time, he gets the unenviable assignment of looking after students who don’t go home for the holiday. In coaching we say: “We are all each other’s students and teachers.” This movie demonstrates how true this is.

Rosa Maria, Strategy Consultant: If you're a foodie and car enthusiast like me, you'll enjoy these two faves: Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Extra Good Things Cookbook & Feynlab Pure Car Wash.

Dr. Nicole Scott, Executive Coach: My favorite family “ritual” is binge watching a show. During Covid, my son, stepdaughter and I would put our pjs on, pop popcorn, and watch an entire season of the chosen show on Saturdays. Post-Covid, we have continued the tradition.

Selena Salinas, Senior Project Coordinator: The book The Mountain Is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage Into Self-Mastery is a favorite, because it teaches me to build resilience and keep going.

Holly Uverity, Time Management & Productivity Expert: Being at or in a body of water is a favorite thing of mine. Both above and below the waterline are lessons to be learned and reminded of. For instance, the water will always come to the shore, regardless of what I do or who I am.

Precious Owodunni, Mountaintop CEO & Founder: A favorite quote, that helps me protect my joy, is: “focus on the donut, not the hole."

separator emily 2

Emily Carman, Marketing Consultant: I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to travel frequently, and my favorite place I've visited is San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. (Here's my travel guide.)

separator noor 2

Noor Abukishk, Project Coordinator:  My favorite saying: You can't control everything that happens to you, but you CAN control the way you respond.

separator cat 2

Catherine Seitz, Manager of Growth Initiatives: One of my favorite things is a solid nap. Turning myself "off and on again" is the fix to a myriad of challenges. In the wise words of Winnie The Pooh, "when all else fails, take a nap."

separator heather 2

Heather D'Alesandro, Leadership Coach: A favorite quote, from George Eliot: "It is never too late to be what you might have been." I love this quote as it inspires people to pursue their dreams and passions. It's never too late to make a change and become the person you want to be.
