Greetings,
Mountaintop - like one of my teenagers - has reached driving age. And similarly, the company has gone from an experience that was initially driven primarily by me to one where I have the privilege of being a trusty navigator, riding alongside an amazing group of experts who bring diverse strengths to the journey.
All that to say: Mountaintop’s 16th feels quite sweet, with the company reaching a point of maturity that’s worth celebrating. What amazes me most with the business (as with my children) is that so much of the foundation of who we are was evident from the start. Leadership and business development are our bedrocks, and they have become even more prominent as we’ve expanded to become a group of roughly 15 employees and strategic partners.
We started with a focus on business development strategy for law firms and now spend about two thirds of our time with law firms and legal departments; the last third centers on top companies and investment banks. Our work initially was hyperlocal in Houston; we have now branched out so that most of the programs we run are executed for a global cohort of participants, making for some fun, late nights and early mornings as we seek to serve clients in Singapore and London well.
Our work has also evolved from a typical engagement of a single training workshop in the early days to now regularly delivering year-long programs to help firms retain their top performers around the world and prepare them for advancement. Over that time, we've learned from our successes and the challenges, refining our ability to be hyper responsive and client-devoted, while also building more sustainable lifestyles for our team members.
We’re excited for what’s to come. Thanks to you, Mountaintop is on track to become a really lovely adult.
I'd love to hear about milestones you've celebrated recently. Reply to this email, and let's chat.
