His legacy inspired our name and continues to inspire our work. This year we had the pleasure of working with the devoted students at TSU Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

| View in browser His legacy inspired our name and continues to inspire our work.   In 2020, we launched Mountaintop Academy, a special business skills course provided at no cost to the six law schools at historically black colleges and universities in the U.S.   This school year we expanded the program at TSU Thurgood Marshall School of Law, by adding coaching support from our team, to rave reviews. We’re excited to share some of that feedback below and to spotlight a few of the exceptional students who participated. Why Law School: "I have always loved serving as a resource to people to help them accomplish goals they have always wanted to do but couldn't. This is what the legal profession does. Lawyers help people get from point A to point B, and that's what I want to do."   Practice Interests: "I am interested in commercial law, insurance law, sports and entertainment, and estate planning."   Connect with Paige on LinkedIn here. Why Law School: "I decided I wanted to go to law school because I realized the legal field was not composed of many people that looked like me. I wanted to show underrepresented groups they are able to overcome stigmas attached to them."   Practice Interests: "I am interested in multiple areas of practice, such as criminal defense and civil defense. Upon graduation from law school I want to go into corporate law, so I can gain experience in civil litigation."   Connect with Amber on LinkedIn here. Why Law School: "I decided to become a lawyer after partaking in a hearing for an energy client when I was a regulatory specialist for a consulting firm. I found the process and experience exhilarating."   Practice Interests: "I am most interested in practicing energy law. Here is what some enjoyed most:   “I like that the lessons are very bite sized and that all of the nervousness (imposter syndrome, overachieving) that comes with career planning is addressed and validated." ..........   “I enjoyed that the course emphasized that even the most perfectly planned goals may sometimes fail or change. And I found it helpful to learn ways to be proactive with my development." ..........   “It was very engaging. I also feel like Rosa Maria really cares about my success which is comforting at a time where I’m only 22 and not sure what I’m doing. Having that guidance is really nice." ..........     “I appreciated the gems provided on how to communicate and connect with my peers, colleagues, and supervisors in a more effective way." ..........     “I enjoyed hearing everyone's perspectives on what they thought thinking like a lawyer means.
